Is this just speed dating?

We combine several concepts into our signature Matchez Elite events to have a little something for everyone.

The nights starts with checkin, mingling and completing your MatchBox survey (more on this below). Once everyone is checked in and the surveys are complete you will take part in approximately 3-5 express dates lasting about 8 minutes each. These are one on one dates that have been hand picked specifically for you based on your profile. If you run out of things to say we have ice-breaker prompts to help you along.

The second phase of the night is our Group Date where you will be sitting at a table of 4-6 people of both genders just getting to know each other in a more relaxed environment. This takes some of the stress off the one-on-one dates. The twist however, is that one of the other particpants at your table is your “most-compatible” match from the event based on your MatchBox survey. This will be revealed at the end of the group date and you will then have additional time to chat with them directly.

So you will get a chance to make Matchez through express dates, group dates, a most compatible connection and through mingling during set breaks.

Do I have to creat a profile?

Yes! We also need you to submit the profile at least 3 days prior to the event you are attending to ensure your best matchez. We strive to be unique and unlike many other speed dating events, we value your time. Spending a few minutes telling us a little about you and what you’re looking for will save you a lot of time in the long run as we’ll be able to pair you more accurately. Your profile is also what gets you invited to our Matches Exclusive invite-only events.

Do I have to complete a new profile for every event I attend?

No, if you have already completed a profile and are attending another event, simply email us with your name and date of birth so we can include your existing profile in the matching process.

What is MatchBox?

MatchBox is a software powered by the technology behind the Marriage Pact that's matched over 750,000 people to date, and uses relationship science to find you your most compatible match at the party! When you arrive at one of our designated MatchBox events, you will take a matching questionnaire. The Matchbox algorithm will identify your optimal match at the party, based on relationship science, AI, and Nobel Prize-winning economics. Since this is a separate questionaire and algorithm from your profile Matchez for the express dates, you may match with the same person you already met during one of your express dates.

If your match isn’t love at first sight, that’s okay! The algorithm is designed for long-term compatibility, so at baseline, you’ll be values-aligned.

At the end of the day, this will be a great group of single people. Enjoy meeting everyone, and remember to be kind.

Will all my matches meet my expectations?

We use the filters from your profile to find you the best match possible at the specific event you are attending. Obviously with a limited number of guests we cannot guarantee all or any of the matchez you meet with will fit your criteria. Knowing your ideal type will however help us invite you back for invite-only nights where we try to bring people together who would be a great match.

Who will receive my information?

Throughout the night you will have multiple chances to meet people and interact both romantically and platonically. We provide you with a form to notify us of who you wish to match with and only the people you select will receive your phone number, regardless of whether they chose you back.

Can I bring a friend?

Absolutely! Many of our participants come with a guest. They will need to purchase their own ticket. We are looking to host “wing (wo)man nights” as well in which your friend can come at a reduced price and it does not matter if they are single or not as they are just there to support you and they will not be paired with anyone during the event.

What are the Matchez Exclusive invite only events?

So LA is a big city and you might attend one of our events on a Monday in Burbank and while we are going to put you with your best matchez at that event, maybe you have an even better match who attends one of our events on a Thursday in Venice. With other companies you would miss out on that connection. Overtime we collect hundreds of profiles and then host private events inviting just those that we feel will be a good match. The only way to get invited to an invite-only event is to first attend one of our other events and create a profile.

What if I don’t fit the age bracket listed for the event?

The age brackets are not requirements, they are guidelines to help make sure groups are similarly aligned. If we see a demand for younger men seeking older women, or vice versa, we will definitely put on themed events. All of that being said, all of our events are at least 21 years and older since most take place at bars.

What if my date does not show up?

Let’s be honest, especially in LA there is a chance one or more guests do not show up. We do try to keep our ticket sales balanced between genders, when applicable, and fill in any known vacancies off the guest list to do our part, but there is always a chance one or more of your pre-assigned matches no-shows without notice. You will still have the opportunity to mingle with all participants during the various free time periods of the event and you will still take part in the group dates and since we do the MatchBox most-compatible pairings live at the event you should get those, although if there is an odd number there is a chance someone does not get a match.
